Karen and Albert is finally getting married! - after ALMOST 10 solid years now. THAT, is some big news. I don't mind getting the red bomb from them hey and more importantly because *drum rolls*.... I was their matchmaker XD (well, technically lar).

Karen was my classmate back then during college days. We were in the same group for a particular project. Albert, on the other hand, is a friend I know from another course. To keep things short and simple,
  1. Albert has a crush on Karen.
  2. Albert wanted to confess.
  3. Albert wanted me pass his love letter to Karen - According to Karen then, the letter goes along the line of 'Can we be friends?' - the helpful me (who finds it FAR-nee) agreed to Albert's request.
  4. Karen denied the 'love' from Albert. Excuse: He just wanna be friends la.. (Obviously she hasn't feel the love yet).
  5. I then, became the official postman between the two. Passing letters/messages.
  6. Before you know it, they started sharing the same umbrella on 1 rainy day, walking home together... I MEAN, Albert walking Karen home, together. Ta-daa.. a new couple was born!
When Karen breaks the news to me via MSN, I sent an sms to Albert congratulating them. The courteous Albert replied:

"I need 2 thank u more than anything. Without u, then all this is not possible. Thx man, Owe u big time. Haha. So please come (to my wedding) ya. I would like 2 intro u as my honourable guest"

That is so sweet! Haha. Close friend of mine, Bliss, said I have done 1 good thing in life now, WHICH IS GOOD :D

BUT horrr, there's a Cantonese saying "不做中,不做保,不做媒人三代好" (loosely translated as Don't be the Middleman, Don't be the Guarantor, Don't be the Matchmaker and Three Generations of yours will be good) - In this case I am the "媒人" (matchmaker) .. HOW? Three generations of my life ruined d lorr?? ~~ :p aiyooyoo~

What is wrong with the Malaysian clients?

When you try to provide them with professional advice, they start throwing tantrums at you as they felt:
  • you are trying to outsmart them.
Seriously, no one is trying to outsmart or to challenge anyone's intelligence here. Moreover, they're the client - we still need the paychecks from them. This is one very stupid thing statement. The whole point of engaging professionals from creative agencies at the first place is to get someone to help market their products/services via creative outputs - of course that includes providing solutions to the existing problems (if any), enhancing user experience and brand confident, and promote their sales (if applicable). So understandably, it's a 2-way communication. The role of the creative agency is to advise and convince but really, it's up to the client to make the final decision. So, who THE FU*K SEZ this is considered outsmarting them (the client)?! AND NOT AS IF WE'RE POINTING A GUN AT THEM AND FORCED THEM TO BUY WHICHEVER CREATIVES WE PROPOSED. WHY CAN'T CLIENT BE A LIL' BIT MORE REASONABLE? I KNOW LAA YOU ARE PAYING AND ALL - BUT.. WHAT THE FU*K? Just reject and learn to say 'NO' larr.. Is it so hard to say a 'NO. I don't like this idea' or 'NO. This is not what I'm looking for' ?!?!?

  • you are giving them lots of problems, and their peers are giving them hard times as well.
Asking question is a problem. Clarifying something is also a problem. Calling them during working hours are also a problem. What, is not a problem? If you don't contact them, if you don't clarify what you're unsure of, you will get scolded eventually if you screw things up. 3 DAYS WORTH OF BUFFER PERIOD AND THE CLIENT MADE NO FU*KING COMMENTS OR MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT ADDING ADDITIONAL CHANGES AND ON THIS VERY LAST DAY THEY OH-SO-HAPPILY CHOSE TO BOMBARD YOU WITH CHANGES THAT ARE ABSURD! ... and they say you are giving them problem. I wonder where they learn their logics and common sense.

  • you can't take orders - "just listen to what the client wants!".
Sure, as though we work at McD's or KFCs and all we do is take orders. "Spicy or Original?" Bah! IF ALL WE DO IS LISTEN TO YOUR ORDERS AND WHAT YOU WANT, MIGHT AS WELL YOU HIRE A DESIGN FRESHGRAD AT THE FIRST PLACE AND JUST ASK HIM/HER TO DO WHATEVER SHIT YOU WANT! WHY ENGAGE AN AGENCY AND SPEND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN AD CAMPAIGNS!? BETTER STILL, JUST ASK YOUR SON/DAUGHTER/NEPHEW/NIECE TO FLASH IT OR HTML IT FOR YOU LARR. F.O.C !! and I bet they won't outsmart you or give you any problems. BITCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
I get pissed off with people who thinks they're doing a good job simply because they have years of experience in the field, who thinks they know very well what they do when they don't and still get paid big bucks.

WHO the bitch? Someone from some airline with the initial AA. NOW, I didn't say who, I didn't say which client. You guess it yourself. I felt sorry for the one who is liaising with her and servicing the account. Sigh.

SIGH. That's what I get when I tried logging in to Facebook. The entire afternoon (from 12pm onwards) has been very unproductive. I don't get to update my status, I can't comment on my friend's status, I can't 'ignore' applications/events/invitations, I can't reply my emails (as if there's any), I can't see who's slacking in the office and I can't *poke* Genesis_Boon!!

Yes, I have been relying on Facebook to pass time these days. Can't blame me. My dayjob has been pretty stagnent eversince CNY. Even the freelance job I took up begins to look more like a FULLTIME JOB than a part time. YaWn*

I wanna write new notes! I'm addicted to answering 47 questions, writing 25 random things, and randomly putting down songtitles as answers to some pathetic questions! UrgH! $*@&#(*@!!

....

I AM NOT A FACEBOOK ADDICT! Just a frequent Facebook visitor v(^-^)v

This Never Happened Before
Paul McCartney

I'm very sure, this never happened to me before
I met you and now I'm sure
This never happened before

Now I see, this is the way it's supposed to be
I met you and now I see
This is the way it should be

This is the way it should be, for lovers
They shouldn't go it alone
It's not so good when your on your own

* So come to me, now we can be what we wanna be
I love you and now I see
This is the way it should be
This is the way it should be

** This is the way it should be, for lovers
They shouldn't go it alone
It's not so good when you're on your own

Repeat *, **

I'm very sure, this never happened to me before
I met you and now I'm sure
This never happened before (This never happened before)
This never happened before (This never happened before)
This never happened before (This never happened before)

03 February 2009

I got called into the boss' room this morning.

'Probably another new job briefing', I thought.

He started with how's working here and went on to how's the subordinates under me and before I could even finish what I have had to say, he stopped me there and cut straight to the REAL topic-

"What is happening to Kelabu Serata Dunia (my previous company)? I heard alot of people is leaving. You told me once before during your interview but I can't remember. What's... What's wrong in there?"

So there I go explaining to him again, the same shits that I told him during my interview months ago and then he went on explaining why he had to ask this again - apparently he's doing a favour for this friend of his who's interested to join Kelabu Serata Dunia. *SIGH* .. and I thought he wanted my honest opinion on HIS company and staffs. Macipet - -"

Anyway..

Turns out.. *breath in*
  1. The friend of his (my boss), is a candidate me and my ex-boss interviewed before (at Kelabu)
  2. Whom I HEARD (lately) has rejected my ex-boss' offer
  3. Who has just added me on MSN (right after I walked out of my boss' room)
  4. And gotten my MSN ID from an ex-colleague of mine.
  5. Who wants to know what's wrong with Kelabu because she heard me and Bubu has left Kelabu.
  6. Who knows BuBu because she interviewed BuBu before at her current company.
(What the hell...) *breath out*

Complicated-nya.

... and how did I know she's a friend of my boss? Because I told him what happened this morning and she happily said, that person my boss was referring to, is her - because they met this morning while having breakfast and they talked about Kelabu and I happened to be from Kelabu.

Okay... enough of this post.. I am getting a headache..

One big round..

I completely understand the need and significance of firecrackers/fireworks during the festive season especially last night when the Hokkiens celebrates and pray to the God (Bai Tin Gung).

BUT FIREWORKS at..

3-4AM IN THE MORNING!? Hell man, other people need their sleep wei! And not everyone took a day off the very next day. Very inconsiderate-lor~ And to top that up, the fireworks went on, not once.. but 2 to 3 times in a row! (on average 3 minutes per session). Some of my colleagues got that too around their residential area but was quickly 'settled' at the sirens of the (police) patrol car by 1-2am. I wonder why we didn't get that! *EessH*

YaWnn.. . . . . .
