What I experienced:
  • iTunes kept cancelling my iPhone Wi-Fi sync
  • iTunes couldn't detect my iPhone over USB cable
  • iPhone kept asking me to 'trust' my computer
What I did:
  •  Re-installed iTunes
What happened next:
  • iPhone no longer asking me to 'trust' my computer
  • iTunes finally detected my iPhone over USB cable
  • iTunes continue to cancel my iPhone sync (both Wi-Fi and USB sync)
What I did:
  • Sync new songs 1 at a time and see which causes the problem
What happened next:
  • As predicted, 1 of the new songs seem to be the problem
What I did:
  • Removed the Album Artwork from the faulty song file
What finally happened:
  • Finally got to sync all new songs

iTunes. I didn't know you have preferences over album artwork.

Had a conversation with Bubu and Nicolensm the other day about Ang Pow design and I realized the last time I did one was actually during my college day as a project assignment. And since I had nothing better to do for the day, I fire up my Photoshop and did a quick Ang Pow design. So here it is! Taa-daa! Happy Chinese New Year people! May the Year of Horse brings you plenty of prosperity and good fortune!

Yah, I kinda skipped using the horse imagery as I find it rather over-rated. Instead, I focuses on the arrival of Spring (春) and Good Fortune/Happiness (福) with blossoming petals and gold leaves for good luck :D

Spicy food

I like the heat but it makes me sweat like a pig. Everytime I order something spicy I need to think twice about it. So many factors that I need to consider:
  • Did I bring my handkerchief to wipe off the sweat?
  • If not, did I bring enough tissue papers to wipe off the sweat?
  • Do I have to meet up with anyone after this looking terribly drenched?
  • My hair! Will it be freaking messy after the sweat avalanche?
  • Is there cold drinks to accompany the meal?
  • Is the heat so extreme it may cause stomach upset?
Ah, sweat oh sweat.. why must you start pouring down everytime I order my favourite asam laksa, curry laksa, nasi lemak and Nando's chicken. I just wanna enjoy my food jeh.... You are so irritating-lor! So paiseh leaving so many wet tissue papers on the table after each meal.. *SIGH*

Spicy food and Sweat comes together!

23 January 2014

We have a new neighbor. Not sure if she's a Korean or Jap or Chinese or anything at all. All I know is, this new neighbor of ours like to scream (she's probably in her 20s). And I don't just mean screaming and yelling IN the house. She screams at her balcony like a lunatic....and yes we are staying all the way up at the 21st floor. So she practically have the whole of KL/PJ as her stage. I can't figure out most of the words, but I think it goes along something like this :

"BENNY! CAN YOU HEAR ME~~!!??"
"WILL YOU MAAAAARYYYYYY MEEEEE~!!!?"
" (Gibberish Gibberish Yada Yada Hoolaalaa Hoolaalaa sound)!!!!"

She does it all the time. In the morning, at night time. You name it, you get it. It's bizarre. She would start mumbling to herself, cry a little, then laugh then cry a little then talk to her own phone (refer to pic above), then start screaming as if she owns the whole f*cking condo, all at her balcony....alone. At when that happens, Sam (our brown poodle) would start barking and she would echo back by making those silly 'woof woof' sound like a 3-year old. God please, this child seriously needs help.

She probably got dumped recently, I dunno.. but seriously, who the heck yells out "Will you marry me?" to thin air? And no, we have never seen the parents before. Maybe she's staying on her own. Did we bother knocking on her door asking her to shut the f*ck up? No. We figured it is best to leave her alone - jump down from the building or start hallucinating or talking to herself is entirely up to her. I'm sorry but I can't help AND I don't want to help! People like this should just go kill themselves (I don't mean that literally but you get the gist!)

Siao Jar Boh

I have 2 nephews, both children of my paternal half-brother. For the very first time, I had the longest conversation with my younger nephew ever over lunch today. We talked more than 30 minutes! HAH! Break record -sial!

Apparently, he's about to graduate with a Diploma. We talked about internships, companies and expectations, dream jobs, interviews, career paths and directions. To be honest, the entire conversation felt weird and a lil' awkward. Simply because we don't usually get to talk to each other. And to begin with, I don't even get to see him very often (usually only during festive days or less). So this whole idea about ME educating HIM on his STUDIES and about WORK and sharing my personal job experiences, is pretty unusual... (like who am I-lar to give him such advice and insights?). But I guess I did what I possibly could - damn those strenuous questions that seems to bother every fresh grads ie. tackling job interview questions, who and where to work, work etiquette etc. etc. Hoo-boy! Tough one.. tough one. Oh well, at least I did my part as an uncle! YAY! :D  Whether or not it helped, that, I don't care... LOL

- To think of it... it is supremely rare for someone in my family tree to have achieved that high academic qualification (aside from moi *ahem*). Everyone else is either a high-school graduate or....  a high-school graduate. By far, I'm the only one who holds a Bachelor Degree in the paternal side of the family *cough *cough . So, kudos to my nephew who has made it this far! I hope he will continue studying for a Degree. No pain, no gain...

Fresh grad problems

22 January 2014

School mates, college mates, ex-colleagues, close friends - they will all make a sudden appearance during Chinese New Year. I haven't seen most of them since the Jurassic period and now everyone wants to meet up. So far my calendar for the remaining of January seems pretty occupied with lunch, dinner, lou-sang sessions, tea and what not gatherings. While catching up with friends may be something refreshing and something I should be excited about, it is perhaps a little too much at one go - my wallet is running low on cash fuel. My, oh my ... it pays (so much) to catch up with buddies these days! We should just meet up more often next time. No more Annual Friendship Anniversary day please....

【 叔公 】

这名次。。。
听起来多么高的辈分呀!
多么德高望重呀!
多么老呀!
才那年轻32就已是某人的(表)叔公。
还真的有点难堪!

多冤枉啊!

I still prefer the western equivalent - 'Uncle' / 'Aunt'
【 叔公 】 is just too Classic / Antique / Old / Traditional / Prehistoric!

反正我看起来还年轻,
干脆叫我一声【哥】 就好了啦!
不用什么【叔】什么【舅】什么【公】的!
有够老派的。。

老,又没什么【好康】。。

对吧?

对吧?!

SAINT SEIYA
LEGEND of SANCTUARY

Finally the 6th Saint Seiya OVA, the last being 'Saint Seiya: Tenkai Hen Overture' released in 2004. Being a superb Masami Kurumada's fan (especially when it comes to 'Saint Seiya'), I really look forward to this all CG-based OVA. I'll finally get to see cool animation on the attacks and Cloths. Yeah I know they already have it on PS2/PS3 games but that is just different. Game is game. Anime is anime. BUT, there is always a 'but'. Biggest let down is the fact that it reminds me too much of Final Fantasy. The styling is just so different than that of Kurumada's. Why must they change the freaking design? Why can't they just stick with the original design? Sigh...

Nevertheless, I am so absolutely gonna catch this!  :D

(BTW, That's LEO GOLD SAINT - AIOLIA at the end of the trailer)

Damn..  really too FINAL FANTASY-laa wei..

THE YAYs
It is Saint Seiya!
Full CG OVA
It is coming pretty soon

THE NAYs
Looking too much like Final Fantasy-lor
Original essence completely lost :(
Seiya looks more like an antagonist... aiks!

Samsung, oh Samsung..

First you say all I need to do is a factory reset. Then you tell me it is a software problem that requires a software update. Yesterday you said it could be a faulty motherboard. So I let you replaced the mutha-fuckin-board.

Still, I woke up this morning to encounter the same exact issue.

( System not responding...)
( Reboot ) x loop

So what now? I have opted for an exchange since my first visit to the Samsung Service Service (first week of purchase) but you kept giving me bullshit suggestions which kept failing. Now, you are telling me I have long past the warranty period (into the 3rd week of purchase) and you do not guarantee me a unit exchange.

Samsung, oh Samsung..

Sometimes

06 January 2014

First post of 2014 and it's gonna be a damn racist one. I apologize for the following racist comments but my head is erupting and exploding with fierce lavas as we speak! NEVER NEVER hire that non-pork eating race as your customer service representatives or get ready to have your brand/company down the drain of stupidland.

Close friends of mine should know my mom has been having problems with her brand new Samsung Note 3 phone. Everyday, it prompts 'system not responding' and it keeps rebooting itself like nobody's business. Went to the 1U Samsung service center last week and was attended by a Malay lady. Told her the problems , she insisted she has NEVER seen such issue before and requested that we do a factory reset ourselves cuz sending it to the workshop takes 3 days (no guarantee will fix the problem) and opting for the 1 for 1 exchange will take 2 to 3 weeks time SO LONG WE DO IT WITHIN A MONTH'S TIME before the warranty wears out she said!

So fine, I did the mutha fxkin reset, still the same shit arises. I read up the forum online and did a soft reboot myself wiping off all data and cache and the same idiotic message still kept coming back. It is insanely ridiculous! So I thought okay, might as well just get it exchanged and hope we get it back before CNY.

30 minutes ago I went back to the same service center at 1U, this time attended by a helpful Chinese girl. Unlike her useless colleague who claims she had never seen such problem (end of story), the Chinese girl consulted with her technician on the raised issue only to find out it is a software problem. As this WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME people with note 3 complaint about the same issue, she suggested we get it fixed and it should be ready in 2 hours time.

I totally can live without the phone for 2 hours but I thought might as well change it for a brand new one since it is still under warranty. But Nooooooo... She consulted her boss and said we can only claim for warranty within a week of purchase. A WEEK??? THAT IGNORANT MALAY COLLEAGUE OF YOURS SAID A MONTH!, I said , so loud I think the whole service center can hear my voice.

FIRST, that dumb Malay lady said she has NOT SEEN such problem. Then she said warranty within a month. She also added fixing the phone needs 3 fuckin days and without even consulting her own technicians. I would have freaking changed the phone on my first trip to the center if she has given me the RIGHT information as the Chinese girl did. Or I would've spent the 2 goddamn hours then to fix the measly bloody software problem. OMFGKNSKNNCCB!!

Like how much more MISLEADING can a service representative gets??! Lucky for the Malay bitch she's not around today or hoooboy, am I gonna make a big fuss over this! I'd make sure she get fired on the spot!

THAT PARTICULAR RACE really can't do anything! It's in their blood to just sit and make babies and pray 5 times a day and not switch on their brain cells.

I'm a very angry customer. I dunno what I hated most now. Android , Samsung , or Malays... Eeeesssshh. And here I am at Starbucks having a cuppa while I wait 2 hours to have the phone fixed.
