Hajime & Umai-Ya .. sisters?!
Went to Hajime for dinner with family just now. Bro decided to give everyone a treat since its his birthday today. Weee~ . Quite a nice place.. secluded but nice!We decided to leave everything to the chef-cum-director of the restaurant.
He made the call for us - all we do is sit back, relax and enjoy the meal.
It was great! Everything is so new to us. We had:
- Giant Butteryaki mushroom
- Angler Fish's Liver (the Japanese equivalent of 'foie gras')
- Sashimi moriawase
- Fish cake wrapped around with dunno-what-leaf (something like gyoza)
- I-can't-remember-what-maki (with a sesame sauce that you have to prepare on your own. Hahah.. quite fun actually.. )
- Wagyu Beef (this is heaven~~)
- Shake Bomb (foie gras wrapped around with Salmon)
- I-dunno-what-sort-of-flat-soupy-noodle (NICE!!)
- .. and a dunno-what-Cheese-maki (handroll with cheese and unagi)
- Green tea mousse, Wasabi, Chocolate, Black Sesame Ice Cream for dessert
I'll definitely go back again sometime!
MAMA JILL: if you're reading this, the chef/director of Hajime happens to be owner of Umai-Ya at Uptown 37 too, haha..
