Okay, so I am not a frequent flyer nor am I much of a traveller and I don't really see and use my passport that often but please, just how much more ugly can our country's new passport be?

No wait. Even 'ugly' does not quite describe it - yes, 'ugly' is an understatement, no doubt about it.

Previously they printed a full copy of your colored photo and your personal details on the cover of the passport - not too bad I must say. But NOW, they print on a BLACK AND WHITE photo of you with the details (in black and purple text color) on a laminated plastic-material like thingamajig...

How .. hideous. My first impression - the photo looks like it belongs in a funeral and it definitely looks like, what we Chinese called '车头相' (the photo of the deceased placed in front of the funeral van). I mean, choyyyyyyyy~~!! Pooi hau sui!!! Just which stupiak person thought of and approved such design laaa??!

Why can't they use colored photo? Isn't it easier for the immigration officer to recognize you from a full colored photo instead? And they didn't even crop my photo out properly. My ears and neck were transparent, not white. What lousy photoshopping skill. And why purple font color for headers? *sweat*

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks of it this way.

Phooooo~! I have nothing else to say. Okla, finish ranting for the day :D

Haaaa.. another monster in my bedroom. First it is the Rascals - Notti-chan and Wiked-san, then Domo-kun and now it is this .. hmm... rainbow monkey-looking long leg long hand creature (a birthday present from Ayami). My bedroom is slowly filled up with monsters. I hope it doesn't give me nightmares. And aside from these, there's a giant Octopus and a Chocobo in the car. Makes me think how come there's no cute cuddly bears or anything of the norm. I seem to attract and be attracted to monster huggables. What gives?

Once in a while, I like listening to tracks like these :D
There is always something beautiful about the 70s and 80s' Japanese song
- the time before it gets extremely westernized.

愛する人は君だけ

Smartphones oh smartphones, why are you such a nuisance? So mom wanted a new mobile phone to show off. Apparently all her friends had switched to smartphones and she has telling me how awesome photos taken from their phone's camera function are - whereas her current phone can do nothing except for calling / sms-ing and Quadrapop-ing

And so, I brought her to Blue Cube and wanting to show her how amazing these smart phones can be. Since everyone in my family is a committed iPhone user, I went on persuading her to get an iPhone 5. Not an easy task. Apparently she has been longing for Samsung Galaxy S4 - claiming that all her friends are using the said model and it would be easier for her to carry it around and have her friends teach her to use it - just in case.

Well, I can't exactly force her into liking iPhone right? She has got some points right about S4 - larger screen, larger screen and much larger screen.... iPhone is SO slim, SO small.

Anyway Blue Cube ran out of stock for the S4 and all we could do is put our names on the waiting list. Still, on the way home, I can't help but think... why not an iPhone 5? I need someone to convince me that S4 is better for old folks. Like ... how??

Unbelievably hours later, no more convincing is needed. I changed my mind. I realized no matter what - getting an S4 would be a wiser decision. Simple reason - I don't want my mom coming back home everyday after her outing and start asking me why people's phone (S4) can do this do that, how come hers (iPhone 5) cannot, why her phone so lousy... etc.

I would lose more blood answering to those. Getting the same phone model as her friend would be an easier way out. So yep, Galaxy S4 it is.

*Sigh*  Smartphones....
But why not an iPhone 5?

But why not an iPhone 5?

21 August 2013

I have been thinking alot lately. Most of the time at the middle of the night.

I have been thinking alot lately. Discrimination is indeed cruel. Being discriminated is horrifying. It is upsetting. It is very restrictive.

I have been thinking alot lately. I have been trying to make myself a happier person. I have been forcing myself to think it that way. I have been forcing myself to accept all the differences, all the cruel facts. I have been forcing myself to think that this is not the end of the world.

I have been thinking alot lately. I am afraid of losing friends. But more than that, I'm worried I could cause more problem than it already does.

I have been thinking alot lately. I am tired. I wanted to cry out loud, so loud like it would be the last time I would be crying. But I have been telling myself there isn't much point in doing so.

I have been thinking alot lately. Every little thing triggers me to think about the possibilities of affecting others. I am terrified. I...

I have been thinking alot lately. Shall I die tomorrow, what do I want to make out of the most today? Spend all my money? Do what I like? Or just do nothing?

Perhaps I should stop thinking. But you wouldn't understand. It is not that easy.

Midnight thoughts

18 August 2013

I recently added the Twitter widget and Facebook RSS feed onto my blog. Pretty simple I must say. Then this brilliant mind of mine came up with an absolutely weird idea of adding my Foursquare feed as well. Uh, technically I don't see much of a point and its not like I wanted to be stalked about. And with the safety of Malaysia going down these days, actually it is better to hide your whereabouts.

BUT, that is not the point. I went on to look for the Foursquare feed anyway thinking it would be as easy as copy pasting the feed, just for the fun of it. To my surprise, blogger doesn't recognize the RSS URL from Foursquare - it kept returning as an invalid URL. Is it because blogger is trying to protect the user's privacy? Not bad, if that is the case, but would appreciate if they at least let us know so.

Hmm, does anyone know of the reason? Do you? Do you? Let me know if you happen to know the reason :)

Bliss is migrating to Down South ! But before that, she needs to sit for IELTS in some posh hotel.. yeah, sounds weird... English exams in a hotel.. pffttt~~! She's aiming to get a score of 7/7/7/7 - that is to say, 7/10 for speech, 7/10 for writing, 7/10 for reading, 7/10 for listening. Actually it sounds quite hard. So I went online and did some sample IELTS questions. And here's my verdict:

Listening
Is relatively simple. Bliss shouldn't have much problem with this. The tricky part is, the audio would only be played once, so you must memorize the questions and get the answers correctly. Nothing big.

Speech
Shouldn't be a problem either. You are expected to converse in a specific topic like where you are from and what's your past time hobby etc.

Reading
Is similar to what we have for SPM. Read an article and answer questions based on the article. Just gotta stay focus while answering. Shouldn't be too hard-ler.

Writing
This should be, by far, the most difficult. It could be a graph, a chart, a scenario and you are expected to write what you see accordingly. Pretty much like our rumusan. This, you gotta be real meticulous and steady bom-pit-pit while writing. Understand what it is, find out the key points and you're ready to rumbooo..

Total time to take on all these shitz: 3 hours 30 minutes. Sounds pretty tiring huh?

All the best to Bliss. and ALLLLLLL the almighty goodness oh-my-gawd good luck to Bliss' hubby, Briyani.

"See? I told you.....", says the Dr.

Guess I was putting too much high hopes in my recent blood test. I was expecting a much positive result where I can finally stop the medications I'm still taking for the lung infection. But it got worse. The viral load bounces up again and increases and instead of stopping the medication, I need to do a resistance blood test, check what went wrong, and change to another type of medication that could further suppresses the infection.

Sigh.

This is gonna be a long battle. Or should I say much longer than I predicted. What I'm really worried about isn't about changing to new medicines. It is more of the side effect that comes with it. Nausea, rashes, vomiting, fever, cold - now THAT, is the nightmare. I really hope I wouldn't experience any of those. Not again, I've had enough.

Double Sigh.
